This machine was completely rebuilt in 2015 we just completed it. SCM does not make them like this anymore, we added additional adjustments for aligning the chip breaker shoes that did not come from the factory, and also modified the original chip breaker blow down with a regulated air blow down to help keep the chips from loading up on the chip breaker.
This machine took over 4 months to complete. it is ready to go into production at its new home. This machine is solid cast iron, This machine has a 4 knife straight blade cutter head, Unlike the sheet metal planers of today having a straight knife is not a problem becasue of the weight of the machine. there is no vibration to transfer into the piece being planed. It cuts very clean, comes with a 3 month warranty.
