Not mentioned often these are the heaviest duty dual head boring machines available. They are extremely overbuilt and can with stand 3 shifts a day if needed. Average line boring machines have 1-1/4″ fences and 3/16″ wide steel for materiel supports while the R246 features 6″ wide fences and 2″ thick X 8″ wide solid steel material supports. Capacity (2) 23-Spindle gear driven drill heads that drill from the bottom on 32 mm centers. The rows can be spaced from 4″ to 22″ apart and feature a digital read out. Head run on linear bearings…..yes linear bearings! (2) 4″ bore drill head driven cylinders drive the dead upwords and feature 3-Position drill head stroke control turrets. (2) 3 HP – 1,725 RPM Baldor motors offer plenty of hp (230/460V/3 Phase currently wired 230V). 3 heavy no flex material stops and a total of 8 pneumatic holds downs. Foot pedal operated.
